Heart Healthy, Buckeye Strong at The Ohio State University

The Women’s Heart Alliance is proud of our partnership with The Ohio State University, an effort to educate and empower students to prevent heart disease and stroke – the number one killers of women. The partnership kicked off with activities across campus beginning the weekend of October 28-29.

Heart disease and stroke risk factors are on the rise among college-aged women, and prevention begins early. With The Ohio State University, we are working to encourage students to take steps to prevent heart disease and stroke through understanding their personal risk and embracing a healthy lifestyle.

Students received a free T-shirt and swag bag with a water bottle, hot/cold compress and stress ball at the screenings.

The weekend included free heart health screenings for students, a live nutrition demonstration, an OSU Marching Band Skull session, and activation at the Ohio State vs. Northwestern football game, which included a “Scarlet-Out” during the OSU Marching Band’s halftime show.

The Ohio State University Marching Band, also known as “The Best Damn Band in The Land” offers a salute to heart-health during the pre-game show.

Thank you to all students who participated in our events – we’re so excited to help The Ohio State University as a “Heart Healthy, Buckeye Strong” campus!
